The use of the Tempo Audits mark & UKAS logo & symbols

1. Introduction

1.1. Both Tempo Audits Ltd (“Tempo”) and UKAS strictly govern the use of registered marks referenced on this page. Only companies authorised by Tempo may use the Registered Marks.

1.2. As a certified client of Tempo you are entitled to apply the Tempo certification badge (the “Tempo Certification Badge”) alongside your company name on any of your company documentation then the following regulations must be adhered to. 

1.3 Once Tempo is UKAS accredited (we are currently undergoing accreditation - please check with Tempo to confirm whether your certification is UKAS-accredited before sharing UKAS marks) you will be entitled to apply the Tempo and UKAS certification badge (the “Tempo & UKAS Certification Badge”). There are strict rules concerning the use of the UKAS logo and symbol and these are briefly explained below.

2. General use

2.1. You can apply the Tempo Certification Badge as indicated on any single dimensional material. This covers letterheads, invoices, business cards and all other paper based business materials. This includes any advertising materials that you may produce to support and promote your business.

2.2. If you decide to apply the mark to any road vehicle then you must reproduce it exactly as it appears in the sample, you cannot display the UKAS logo or symbol on any vehicles. The application of the UKAS logo and symbol on any road going vehicles is prohibited and this rule will be strictly enforced at all times.

3. Restrictions on using the Tempo Certification Badge

3.1 The Tempo Certification Badge must not be split or amended in any way and must remain intact, as provided. 

3.2 The Tempo Certification Badge may be applied to any websites, stationery, brochures, walls, exhibition stands, publicity material, company flags and vehicles, but it must only relate to the Scope of Registration for which the company has been certified and must remain legible, with no infilling. 

3.3 The Tempo Certification Badge must not be applied directly to any of the company’s products, packaging or labels for the company’s products. 

3.4 The Tempo Certification Badge must not be used in an ambiguous manner, which may be interpreted as denoting product or process conformity. 

3.5 The Tempo Certification Badge must not be applied to any Reports or Certificates of Conformity for Laboratory Testing, Calibration or Inspection 

3.6 If the company website includes additional locations, services, products etc that are not covered by the Certification then use of the Tempo Audits Certification Badge must clearly state what has been certified, or provide a link to the company’s Certificate

4. Restrictions to use the Tempo & UKAS Certification Badge

4.1 The Tempo & UKAS Certification Badge must be reproduced on a background that will not impede readability, in a size that makes all features of the symbol clearly distinguishable and without distortion of its dimensions.

4.2 The Tempo & UKAS Certification Badge must not be split or amended in any way and must remain intact, as provided. 

4.3 The Tempo & UKAS Certification Badge may be applied to any websites, stationery, brochures, walls, exhibition stands, publicity material, but 5.4 it must only relate to the Scope of Registration for which the company has been certified and must remain legible, with no infilling. 

4.4 The Tempo & UKAS Certification Badge must not be applied directly to any of the company’s flags and vehicles.

4.5 The Tempo & UKAS Certification Badge must not be applied directly to any of the company’s products, packaging or labels for the company’s products

4.6 The Tempo & UKAS Certification Badge must not be used in an ambiguous manner, which may be interpreted as denoting product conformity. 

4.7 The Tempo & UKAS Certification Badge must not be applied to any Reports or Certificates of Conformity for Laboratory Testing, Calibration or Inspection. 

4.8 If the company website includes additional locations, services, products etc that are not covered by the Certification then use of the Tempo & UKAS Certification Badge must clearly state what has been certified, or provide a link to the company’s Certificate.

5. Symbol & Logos can be displayed in the following ways

  • On letterheads

  • Invoices

  • Most other paper based office materials (except business cards)

  • Include in advertising / promotional material for the business

  • Display on a vehicles (restrictions apply) – see section 2.2

  • On the internet i.e. clients website, providing controls are in place to prevent the mark from being downloaded.

  • When displayed the company name of the client must accompany the mark.

6. Symbols & Logos cannot be displayed in the following ways

  • On a vehicle with the UKAS logo or symbol (if displayed on a vehicle it must be without the UKAS logo or symbol).

  • On any products

  • On any product packaging

  • On any laboratory test reports

  • On any calibration reports

  • On any inspection reports

  • On any academic material or qualifications

  • To indicate certification in any area other than those certified against

  • To be used or implied by any other organisation

  • Without the name of the certified client alongside it

The use of all certification marks, symbols and logo’s must be in accordance with the requirements of URN09/1090 National Accreditation Symbols, a copy of which is retained in the reference library file. Further details can be found at www.ukas.com.

7. Withdrawal of Certification badges

7.1 Upon Withdrawal/Cancellation of Certification, a company shall immediately discontinue use of any and all Registration Marks

7.2 Any intended or unintended misuse of these Registration Marks shall result in the request for immediate removal of all offending documentation.
